  • Straight: A straight comprises of 5 cards in a sequence, but not all of the same suit. For example a 9 of diamonds, 8 of spades, 7 of clubs, 6 of heart, and 5 of hearts.
  • Three of a Kind: This hand consists of three cards of the same rank with the other two cards being of different ranks. Example: three kings, a six, and a three.
  • Two Pairs: Consists of a pair of one rank with three cards of different ranks. Example: K, K, 6, 6, 4.
  • One Pair: This is a frequent combination consisting of just one pair with three cards being of different ranks. Example: 9, 9, Q, 2, 3.
  • No Pair: This a very common hand that contains none of the above five-card pairs, nor are all the five cards of the same suit, or consecutive.
