With changing times, the mode of celebration has also undergone a massive change, usually. Republic Day celebrations used to be restricted to schools, colleges, and government offices. But, today these celebrations have entered the doorways at corporates, stores, showrooms, etc.

At Spartan Poker, we are more than just a platform to play poker online. We are a company filled with passion and pride for our country. So we added liveliness to the workplace and jazzed up the spirit of Republic Day. We filled our office with tri-coloured theme flags and apparels inspired by freedom fighters were worn by every employee to honour them. We decorated our office with tri-coloured balloons and flowers that flooded the aura with emotions of patriotism and pride.

Spartan Poker celebrated the day our country's constitution came into force on January 26, 1950, completing the country's transition toward becoming an independent republic by hosting a fashion show, where everyone dressed up in tri-coloured attire or was representing a freedom fighter. They all walked the ramp and the best-performers were awarded exciting prizes. All this was followed by a grand series of poker games online. 

At Spartan Poker, we believe Unity in Diversity is India’s greatest strength. That is why aren’t just about playing poker online. During Republic Day celebrations, we conducted rangoli competitions, ramp walks and hosted skits the entire day in the office. While one employee was dressed as a Punjabi performing the bhangra, another did the ramp walk as a Maharashtrian. Everyone enjoyed their day by participating in the activities and eating traditional food items like chole bhature, puri bhaji ended their day with a mouth full of sweetness with gulab jamuns and jalebis.

Why Republic Day is of Great Importance to our Country?

Even though India became an independent nation on August 15, 1947, we did not have a permanent constitution all this time. The drafting committee presented the first draft of the constitution to the national assembly on November 4, 1947. The national assembly signed the final version of the constitution in Hindi and English on January 24, 1950. India's constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950, that is why this date was chosen as the anniversary of Purna Swaraj Day.

This constitution gave the citizens of our country their right to democracy, their right to choose their own government. Dr Rajendra Prasad took oath as India's first president where he here he unfurled India's national flag. Ever since that day, the date January 26th was embarked in the books of history for our country. And, ever since that day January 26 is celebrated with festivities and patriotic fervour all across India.

Way back in 1950, the Constitution of India came into place on 26th January and ever since then, we've celebrated the day as Republic Day in the country. Here at Spartan Poker too, we didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate this historic day. Here at the Spartan office in Mumbai too, the employees were divided into different groups based on different states of the country. To celebrate the unity in diversity that our country can very proudly boast of, we had a small little fashion show with everyone walking down the ramp in different attire, and the best performers were rewarded!
